Retiring National Director of the ADL, Abe Foxman Receives Art Gift At Honored Reception

The Morris B. Squire Foundation was honored to present, outgoing National Director of the ADL, Abe Foxman, an original piece of art on behalf of the Santa Barbara community celebrating his 50 years of service.

"The title of the piece is "Shlomo" ... referring to a man's name which is a derivative of the word "Shalom" meaning Peace. How appropriate that this piece was chosen for you, a man, whose life mission is to pursue peace for all men & women; made by a man with the same life's goals.

The technique used to create this strong and durable piece is the art of lacquer painting, which is a long and arduous process involving many layers. It is clear that the medium and the title of this piece will serve you well as a reminder of the work Mr. Foxman has done both locally and globally.
