Community Expressive Arts Events 2017

Arts for Humanity! participates in Santa Barbara’s wonderful free public events by providing creative enrichment programs at no charge for our local non-profits and our community:

1.  Children’s Celebration, Summer Solstice in the Park

The Summer Solstice Celebration has evolved into a creative and original display of floats, giant puppets, whimsical costumes and masks of more than 1,000 parade participants, of all ethnic and economic backgrounds. It is the largest, single-day arts event in Santa Barbara County. The parade culminates in a festival with a wonderful collection of live world music, food, arts and crafts, and a special free children’s festival.

Arts for Humanity!’s “Spontaneous Theatre and Portraits for Youth,” is an interactive booth where costumes and props provide a plethora of interactive creative opportunities for Santa Barbara youth.

Event Date(s) and Times: June 24-25, 10:30am-5pm

2.  Santa Barbara Public Library’s Summer Program Kickoff Party

Arts for Humanity! will have a station at this Summer Program Kick Off Party with our Spontaneous Theatre for Children where costumes and props provide a plethora of creative opportunities for Santa Barbara youth. Our volunteers will interact with children and families while helping children create unique costumes.
