On January 24, 2019, The Squire Foundation hosted one of our unique luncheons at our Executive Director's Residence.
The Squire Foundation hosted Dr. Amy Shimshon-Santo, Associate Director of Sotheby's Institute of Art at Claremont Graduate University, and Alma Catalan, graduate student and recipient of the Squire Travel Grant. The Squire travel grant will enable Ms. Catalan to participate in the 2019 arts management study abroad program to Cape Town. Ms. Catalan grew up in Boyle Heights, and welcomes her first international travel opportunity that will connect her with artists and arts managers in South Africa.
Current Squire Foundation Artists in Residence Manjari Sharma, Jodie Hollander, and Brenda Longfellow had their places at the communal table, along with Squire Community Artists Nicole Berry and Tiffani Ortega. Also in attendance were Squire Foundation board member Lois Mitchell, and donors Joan Sanger and Lisa Schokking.
Squire knows it's doing it's job when we can bring together, around a common table, such an eclectic and accomplished group of creative professionals, cross-pollinating ideas and perspectives while sharing a noon-day meal.
